best location for any antenna will be high and on a flat surface like the top of cab
you said a solid mount then you stated a 4 or 5 foot fiberglass antenna would work
102 may be a bit long for you to run
so i would go with a puck mount and a 17 inch shaft Predator 10K
with that puck mounted just in front of the brakelight
with some lmr 240 coax
this setup may be a little extreme for what you want to do
but hey why not do it right the first time then go back and spend more money
Purchasing Cobra 29 LX Digital need antenna recommendations please.

I ordered a 4' Firestik and a fender mount. So we'll start with that and see what happens. Thanks for all the replies.

I always hate to go below 5ft, 4.5 at the least, 5.5 is ideal, but I've seen some 4ft set ups that work pretty good. Good luck!

I have the fender mount on my Durango with a 2000 trucker and have the SWR's matched at 1.1:1 also, my father has the fender mount on his ram with a trucker 2000 with the same SWR's as me. We both ordered the ram kit from right channel radios, comes with mini-8 coax... just make sure the kit is for 04+ rams as the kit for 94-03 will not work on yours... HTH

Make sure you don't tighten that stud down to tight, them right angle stubs like that one are just pressed together and break easy. I recommend the fire ring setup
