That must be what your DR uses then. Non of mine have ever been green. Thats why I asked. All of mine have been either white or off white. Unless your company reimburses you on the motel I would claim a couple nights to have stayed with a friend. How are they going to prove you didn't?

Thats easy enough to do. Mark 7 days off off duty time and go on your merry way.

That is real dumb. I've ran into some DOT officers that clearly were born in WV, AR, KY, or any number of other hick redneck states. The trip to the top of their brain matter was VERY short.

Motel 6 in Cheyenne should have parking for your rig unless its already full. In that case there is a truck stop about a 5 to 8 minute walk away.

Unfortunately it is their business. When you are a truck driver, the DOT federal law wants to know what duty status you are # all times. So since he does not have a sleeper berth, he would need a motel receipt/mom's house etc. and he/she should be prepared to provide the facts of that "off duty" time.

That is a gray area. No where in the regs does it say that.

I do agree it's a gray area, because they do say you can take your 10 hour break as off duty & say nothing about a hotel receipt. The only break that is required to be in the sleeper is the 8 hour split.

So I do understand, but the fact in court of law would be you should be getting some sleep on that 10 hour break and if they prove you didn't then you could be held liable for the accident due to fatigue.
I do agree with you, but you need and we need to practice telling drivers they should be getting sleep because you are on the road with them more than I, however when I am on the road with a driver I prefer not to be around a driver thinking he doesn't have to sleep.

I was referring to motel receipt requirement. Some people can only sleep 4 or 5 hours. I have seen them sleeping in the truckstop where they fell asleep watching tv. They were not in their bunk sleeping for 10 hours.
