I know it's a little early to start this thread. But my new career starts this day with Millis. I am excited and a little nervous at the same time!! Excited to finally have enough balls to hang it up at a job I have been at for a long time now that is safe and secure and make the move into something I have wanted to do for a very long time now. I have 8 relatives all in trucking so none of this will be a real surprise to me. I am a little nervous more so starting out when it comes to the financial part of the equation. I think we are in a good place, I just hope it isn't 2 months of not really making much of anything.
Like others I will try to post and update in here as often as possible come August 27th.
If any others here are scheduled for the same day come join the thread here!!
Other than that, I am excited to be part of the Millis Team soon!

Looks like you run for NM?? For my current job I have several customers I go to on fridays around that big NM yard .. Kobussen and Checkers. Did you start at Millis?

Congrats Truckit! I'll be starting with Millis on Aug. 20 in Cartersville. Used to OTR 3 years ago, and just miss it.
Don't be nervous. Millis is a good company with alot of good people. They really know how to run a company. Challenge is opportunity. Attitude is everything and seems like you got that. Have fun with it. -
Congrats and Welcome Aboard!!

Thanks! Glad to be aboard in good company!
Just got home from the DMV, passed all 3 tests with no problems. However I elected to not get my permit yet as I still need to get my FED MED card, which I have scheduled for Aug. 6. In WI if I were to take the permit today it would have restrictions and I would have to get a new one again ( And pay again I think ) once I got the FED card. Hoping the DOT phys. ok with no problems. This whole sleep apnea crap these docs are doing now is a little worrying as I am short stocky guy, just the way I am built. Someone told me they use some chart from 1969 for guild lines on that crap, like the 17 inch neck thing. My neck is right about or just slightly over 17 inches. I have no problems sleeping, I actually sleep a sound 8 hours without problem every night. Other than that I am not worried, I do an extremely physical job now without problems even being a little chubby lol. Seen some hella big boys out there throwing tarps and opening doors so I should be fine lol -
No, i have been with N&M for 16 1/2 years. I did drive for CTS out of green bay for 4 years. those are my only driving jobs in Wi.

Go to a chiropractor or a urgent care doc for the physical, most fly thru the physical, and the sleep apnea thing only thing I knew was a red flag is if you say you snore. I have had a 19" neck since high school and am only 10 pounds over on my ideal weight for my height.
