Can anyone give me some advice on how to deal with this? I signed on with them four years ago before Covenant bought them out, and they were really not a bad company then...now, I have been shorted for miles, not paid for at least five layovers, and not paid for extra hauling I did for them...it has been going on for months, and I keep getting told the paperwork has been put in and it will be on my next check, and it never is. The fleet managers keep telling me that they cannot do anything, that the upper management is incompetant and getting replaced, but they never seem to be, and other drivers are now telling me not to complain or they will try to either fire me and keep the money, or ruin my driving record so tha no other company will hire me..today this same guy told me that if he was me, he would file a complaint with either the DOT or Dept. of Labor, and this is my FLEET MANAGER! Anybody got any clue on what to do to get my money and not get screwed?

When the bosses start telling you the management is bad, and the fleet Manager is bad mouthing the company, and they owe you & others money you cannot get from them, time to leave ASAP, before it gets worse. Sometimes loosing a little is better than loosing a lot.

That is so sad to hear. You would think a company would have more morals than that. Especially in my back yard.

Fleet managers usually pawn off the trouble on to management. That happens all the time, even in the best companies. But when the fleet managers are going out and telling you how to put the screws to management, there is something very wrong. I think it may be time to go find those greener pastures, because the ones you're in sound very brown.

Time to move on, but it wouldn't hurt to file with the labor board over the missing pay, and the runaround.
