I like the old cat c13, from 06 back, the new c 13 have only troubles, iam thinking what is to do only is not easy ,the new engines are very bad,my 2opinion is the DD15,i think the detroit is better then the new cummins, iam very happy with my c13,for 2 days i was doing a oil change in a shop, and the tech tell me ,my old oilfter was bad instaled and i was loosing oil,i check this out in my next trips

If you want to stay with the good ol engines, best bet os to find a good deal on a glidermthat you like, find a 6NZ, overhaul it and possibly update it to a 550 or 625 if it hasn't been already- that way you get the aerodynamics, and reliabbilty of a new chassis with the best engine cat ever produced for on highway.... But that's my opinion

Didn't Fleetguard have a issue with certain filters & had to make some changes to them?

I'm in the same situation but I'm holding off until January to get another truck. Found a nice low miles 6NZ C15 truck priced good but I need to bank more $$ before I buy. Hate to pass on it but oh well there'll be another one come up.

Serial number prefix "6NZ" single turbo C-15's are the best motor CAT ever made in 2000-2003 year model trucks. Some of the later 2003 model and early 2004's have the single turbo C-15 serial prefix "MBN" - the worst motor CAT ever made.
