I believe they were bought out by Yellow some years back.

I worked for saia they are very good company good pay 40+ hours a week year round ot after 45 decent benefits if you dont mind working a little.you can even do volunteer linehaul on weekend if you want to pick up easy cash. it would be a good choice.
Radman Thanks this. -
All LTL has SLIGHTLY used equipment lol. We don't sleep in it so I really don't care if it's new or used. When it breaks down I start being paid by the hour so it doesn't bother me. When something I find needs repair it gets fixed ASAP. That's why I have a flawless csa and my assigned tractor has million miles. I run linehaul and have no prepass so I always go thru the scale. Now on the Saia thing, have a coworker that said they are good, plenty of work to keep you busy. They had a pretty big profit last quarter so they are booming and so is the rest of the LTL industry. Good times are ahead of us.

I worked for Saia in the early 2000's they were good then. Good pay but a little unorganized. Never got out the door on time. I was doing a turn and not getting enough miles. So I went to Estes. Estes was the best company I have ever worked for. Great pay and a great run. Then they cut my run and a few others when the economy slowed down. Went to Yellow and then got laid off. Went back OTR. Now at Reddaway and they are a good place to work. I like the free benefits but the pay is terrible. I don't get enough work for the 41 cpm I make. So yes Saia is a good place to work imo. There were a lot of tough guys at my yard. Seemed like a lot of the drivers at my yard and some others had attitude problems, like they just got out of jail. It's ok cause I blend right in.
