when i started out. i lasted 8 months before jumping ship.
got tired of missing the home things. got tired of paying for home things. (car, house, utilities, etc) got tired of paying for the necessities of life on the road, such as internet. food. etc.
i probably woulda lasted a little longer if it weren't for the A-hole i was teaming with. but the lifestyle and added expenses still sucks.
and no i was never with central
now, here i am, 13 years later, running solo. and home most weekends to enjoy the things i'm paying for back home.
kids are grown up, and the wives have ALL left. now it's a good time.
and come next week. i'm going to cross sturgis off my bucket list. -
ok, got me there. but those are trucks no one really wants.
the paccar engine is junk. no one really buys a mack for otr. and the intetnational is turning out to be a sting in everyones rear end.
what's trhe prices for trucks that people want and are buying?

Most of centrals cascadias are all DD15 equipped . Now that's a real POS! In my opinion. They have a few that are cummins powered but only a few. The prostars are all rolling electrical problems the volvos are just junk and the Pete's all have Dpf and def issues. Point being, there are no perfect trucks. They all have their issues it just a matter of what you like.

Leaving for orientation today in Conley Ga. Looking forward to it.

Whats wrong with the dd15? My trainers truck had one and it sure pulled the hills a lot better than my isx powered slostar. I asked him about maintenance and he said it blew an oil seal once, but that's the only unsceduled maintenance in 174k miles. I know that's young, but it's all I have to go on.

Good luck, stay safe and God bless!

From all the industry reports I have read. The DD 13 and 15 are by far the best engines in the 2010 platform. The cummins have gotten better the past year, getting past allot of the EGR cooler issues. With the Internationals, the mexican built ones are having some wiring issues. The Canadian ones are better. But the truck is better with the Cummins. The Maxx force is garbage.
Volvo's and Macks have gotten pretty good also. The Mack's biggest issue is that it is heavy. But at least the Volvo and Mack are built in the US. Most other trucks sold here are not. -
Central has had issues with the oil winding up in the coolant and oil seals blowing out on the dd15. It has also been my experience that the cummins pulls better, once it's broken in. The DD15 has more power out of the box. The service intervals are really long on the dd15 also which I guess is a good thing but without any type of bypass filter, I'm not leaving oil in an engine for 50K miles. That's crazy and there aint enough really high mileage dd15s out there to prove its benefit. I may be proven wrong but I'll have to see a torn down engine first. I'm just a little partial to Pete always have been but that's just me. My brother works at the Pete assembly plant in Denton TX. LoL . From the way mine has been acting lately, I think his drunk ### may have built it! LoL
