I'm thinking about buying a cargo van or a box truck to do expediting. I have a CLD A & my husband has his chauffeurs license and is currently working on getting his class B CDL. I haven't driven on my CDL in 3 1/2 yrs so what are the chances if I buy my own truck that I could find someone that would have loads for us?
Should I buy my own truck to do expediting ?

If you buy your own truck you still may have problems getting insurance.
If you were running alone you might be o.k. with a cargo van but if your husband is going to run with you it makes no sense to run a cargo van.
You're better off starting off as drivers for a fleet owner leased to a major carrier. The good paying shippers won't trust their loads to an unknown.necie02 Thanks this. -
Now if I start off as a driver for a fleet owner would they be able to put both me & my husband to work? If so who would you recommend I start checking out first

FedEx Custom Critical lets drivers train their spouses or will stat a driver from a preappproved school without further training.

This entire conversation has been very helpful to me as I am also looking to break out and get started. Thank you all as I am new to this site but not to trucking. Thanks again.
