please help- A friend wants me to invest in DISPATCH Business

    I know nothing about the trucking business, but have been made a business offer, so I am in real need of your help.
    A friend of mine has begun a truck DISPATCH business. He said if I buy a truck and allow his on-call drivers to use it, I can make money. He gave me an example that AFTER -gas/milage driver pay/ small portion of the liability insurance/ 0.15 cent authority feeI would be paid.--
    On average of 2500 miles driven, I would profit after all this $1000.
    Now my main question is. What should I be worried about? How can I make sure the wool won't be pulled over my eyes. I live in a different state than he. So, how can I be sure my truck is being used as I am being told?

    again, I won't drive the truck. only lease it.

    NO...1000 a wk isn't much when u add in maint fuel insurance pay...expect bad weeks...

    I think you answered your own question when you posted on here. When in doubt, don't do it. If it sounds too good to be true, IT IS.

    And, his "on call drivers" that you know nothing about, What if they crash your truck and kill someone? Guess who they are coming after? The owner of the truck would be my guess.

    Dispatch service with on call drivers and somebody else's truck ? Illegal in so many ways. Who would have the operating authority ? Who would keep the driver file and be responsible for random drug testing ?
