What would one use an RGN for? What are they meant to haul?

RGN stands from Removable Goose Neck. It is a double drop where the neck of the trailer detaches to allow equipment to be driver on from the ground. One would haul anything that needs to be picked up at a place that does not have a dock, or tall stuff, or heavy stuff. RGNs are usually built to haul heavy loads.

    aiwiron and NDBADLANDS Thank this.

A RGN is just a removable neck lowboy. They ate usually used to haul equipment so that you can drive iron and off.

Well with the small load from Utah, the sign posts and now this load, I've managed to get up to 10.2mpg with only 46 empty miles. Now if I could only manage that with a real load on....

    DEMO Thanks this.

I've been seeing a lot of Canadian RGN trucks hauling coils out of Ontario to somewhere over in Camache, IA (that's what they told me today when I spoke with them at Iowa80) and then coming back with JD loads. They sure look funny with them coils, but it's a heck of a lot easier to chain and tarp when it's 12" off the ground I guess LOL
