Is there any hope for someone with 3 DUIs from almost 30 yrs ago? I am in St Paul MN. Want to drive but it's not looking possible. Some bad judgement long ago really are not good. I have been sober since then and this is a pain in the #####. Anyone have any ideas?

Maybe I shouldn't say anything. But I want to be honest.

Well if I read the FMCSA Regs right...It says whether your DUI is in a CMV or NON CMV after 1 DUI in non cmv your disqualified 1 year, dui in cmv 1st conviction is 3 years -- any 2nd conviction is dq'd for life. See page 209 in the regs...anyone else agree--cause I'm no lawyer and these regs are rough sometimes! I know that does not answer your HIRING question but I would assume most companies would stay clear of too many DUI's. By the way--looks like you can apply to the state after 10 years to reverse that DQ process with some treatment as proof of sobriety!

to many reoffenders. Don't care what others do I am me. And I take pride in be sober. These are non-com.

About all you can do is try and try again.:dontknow:. We all make mistakes, and IF you have been sober for 30 years, I wish you luck :smt023.

Well I guess if I were you I'd go to the DMV and request a copy of your record, you can also request a copy from HireRight (used by companies to hire employees). You might call around to a few companies initially that you really don't wanna work for just to get a feel of what they turn down. Then I would proceed at that point. If you lie and they find out--your without a job anyway--you need to find out what's on your DMV.

There is only once source for the real answer on this question.. Call and or apply to companies and let them decide. The time is in your favor, but honestly, this will be a long shot for most companies in this business climate. Good Luck!

Most companies only will allow 1 DUI. That's it.

As stated previously, go to the HireRight website and get the report on you. There are *some*states that after a certain amount of time totally (and I mean totally) expunge these records. It is NOT the norm, however. Do your research FIRST and foremost. The MOST I have seen for allowable DUI's is 2. Some are one. Some are ZERO.
Find out about yourself before you delve much further into this. Save yourself some time, aggravation and maybe some heartache by utilizing what is available to you.
