Just about every starter company out there does that Swift, CR England, Knight, Werner. Plus there are about two hundred threads on here covering all of this. Good luck in your search.

A lot more trucking companies these days are providing training. Roehl is a pretty decent company from what I've been reading. They have tuition reimbursement but it doesn't look like they provide their own schooling. Not sure though. Just make sure to read the threads about USA Truck/PAM before you think about these options provided through DriverSolutions. Make sure to read as much as you can on this BB before you decide to go with any company, any direction. But also be cautious of all the negativity here as well. Some people just like to complain for the sake of complaining, and in their minds, the grass is always greener. Good luck.

pam does pay for you're school through c1 truck school

It's kind of a misnomer.. No one that I'm aware of PAYS for YOUR training in the way that most thing would qualify as "paid training". In most cases YOU sign on the dotted line that YOU are responsible for the costs of YOUR training. When you complete YOUR training, YOU then sign an agreement that a company REIMBURSE YOU for said training. (Sometimes the company will buy YOUR contract from the school, and sometimes not). If YOU stay with the agreement and the company, they will reimburse YOU for the costs of YOUR training in its entirety and YOU end up with "FREE" training. IF YOU decide that YOU'D rather quit and or not complete the agreement. YOU with have to pay them for the remaining balance of the training costs remaining on the contract. There is no FREE and there never was.

thank you guys for your feedback. i got what you guys are telling me and i pretty much knew that before hand. so is there going to be any up front costs to me? i dont have the money. im out of work and have always wanted to drive a truck so i figured this is my chance to finally do it.

idk for a fact but I have heard that some of the state employment agency's will pay or loan money to attend schools.
-
how is PAM? i have heard a lot of great things on Roehl so i was looking into them. i havent really heard much on PAM.

If you go to roehls school, you do not pay anything up front, if you do 120000 solo miles then you owe nothing, if you quit then you will pay for whatever you owe, the only thing you have to pay for up front is the hotel on the first day of class..its either 300 or 400 I can't remember which, and of course your food and gas for 3 weeks.

I would think rather than getting tied in with a company that offers training--just in case you don't wanna stay with that
company your not forced to stay to pay them for the trainng. IMHO I'd try to get the cash in advance via loan, state training funds etc...
Find out from the companies that you wanna work for if they offer tuition reimbursement and which schools they recommend...
graduate from that private school and then let the trucking company that you hire on with pay you $100., $150 (different for each company) or so each month.
I realize that might not be your best solution however signing on the dotted line and being indebted to a company for a year or more
might be less than ideal..whatever ya do--good luck man!
