Unlike most on here. I have lost a family member to a drunk driver.
I also have seen my share of drunks on the road and been woke up for them.
I do not drink.
2 beers, on day off, in personal car = fired

You have one license, not a separate "non commercial" license when operating a "personal vehicle". Is there a difference between a "personal vehicle" and "personal conveyance"(?)....just a log book!TRKRSHONEY Thanks this. -

In the eyes of the law anyone with a CDL IS a commercial driver we are all expected to be "professional" at all times we're operating ANY vehicle. This includes our personal cars, trucks and motorcycles.

I dont believe this is matter of driving class. This is a matter of being responsible. Drink and drive should equal loss of license and manditory jail time IMHO.
I would like to see it changed to any dectable amount for all vehicles. Lock them up through away the key. Drunks no one needs them.lonewolf4ad and otherhalftw Thank this. -

If I did drink, I would still not have a problem here. I don't drive the car or pick up when I am home. That is now my Wives job. I get enough driving in the rig.

If I want to be a rebel, I'll drink two beers and hop on my rider mower and go cut the grass. But that's where I draw the line.otherhalftw and TRKRSHONEY Thank this. -
I'm pretty sure that's why they allow .04. Asking for .00 would not only ruin careers, but in reality it's way too unforgiving. That's just not how our laws are. They allow a little leeway. But I hear what you're saying and I agree with your sentiment!otherhalftw Thanks this. -
I have also had a family member killed by a drunk driver, and my father was an alcoholic. I have seen him come home drunk, and pass out in the car the moment he parked in the driveway. I would love to see the BAC dropped to 0.04 across the board for everyone.Last edited: Jul 28, 2012
