got it on the 16, it was questioned becuased he logged off then on at the same location. then his weight tickets were looked at and they were time stamped 3 hours apart -

What always cracks me up about these idiots in "power" is that I can get in my car or truck and drive 12-15 or even 22hrs straight (which Iv done before) with out pulling into a hotel and its perfectly legal. I can stop in a parking lot and take a 15min nap somewere and continue driving. Most people dont even sleep 8 hrs a nite at home let alone in a in a vehicle.

Some of these groups want our driving cut to 8 hours a day, which is fine, but that goes for EVERYONE, so these people who drive 2 hours to work and 2 hours home, well, let them survive on 4 hours a day of work. (8 Hour day). I'm tired of having to dodge tired 4 wheelers. -

windsmith--all there trucks have sleepers. it's still not allowed.
in utah. i don't think i've seen ANYONE actually using daycabs for hauling oil.
last1--they wait in line of usually 2 hours. plus 1 hour to unload. there's a ton of trucks hauling oil so there's no immediatly unloading.
the problem is that there scale in and out is time stamped. which is usually around 3 hours. i know we truckers have situations like that sometimes. so we truckers can't technically claim offduty. so if you reefer drivers get time stamped 10 hours apart at shipper or receiver. your screwed for off duty. technically speaking.
something to be careful about.
i don't know why the scale asked for his weight tickets. unless it's stamped as part of the bol's.
last1--not every truck is going to be stopped at the same time. but we already have problems finding places to park as it is. with the current rules. imagine what it's going to be like next year when there's a mandatory break. and the 34 that can easily be turned into 52 hours. add to that, that most likely drivers will start driving less hours in a day. in an effort to avoid that 34. save there hours so they can recap. which means trucks are going to be parked longer. driving 9 hours a day instead of 11. using that required break giving them actually 8 1/2 hours. so that they never run out of hours.Click to expand... -

don't tell me. i'm just saying to watch your butt. cuz dot might be cracking down on those off duty claims.
they sit there in line for around 2 - 3 hours waiting to unload. so it don't really matter what you haul. we're all sitting. -

Oil is hauled by day cabs, around here, they need the additional weight in the tank.
And the FMCSA green book even lists waiting in line to load or unload, being in readiness to move the truck, must be logged on duty. Totally different from backed into a dock door and taking a nap in the sleeper.last 1 Thanks this.
