Figuring up expenses to subtract from revenue to estimate profit. How much should I estimate for the annual 2290 road use tax to cost? How much for liability/collision, I have a clean mvr with 18 years experience. Thanks.
How much (ballpark) should I figure on having to pay for the 2290 road use tax?

value of truck 2007 Freightliner Century with Thermoking APU, $32K

the 2290 is a flat rate of 550 a year and based on most collision ins rates will be around 3 dollars a thousand , so about 96.00 a month for collision, 20.00 to 30.00 for bobtail a month

for insurance, I used 3.4% of value of truck for insurance. I was within $50 of my final cost for bobtail insurance.

Location and carrier (who you are leased to) can have an impact on bob tail insurance. General range is 3-4% of value. Large carriers that offer it up can be hit and miss on how good the rates are. I have seen as low as 2% and as high as 5%.
