I don't drive, just navigate, but I have a tendency in a car when at a stop sign even if it is my turn, if I see another vehicle still getting close esp to the stop sign and they don't look like they are going to stop, I go ahead and wait till they do, this includes slowing down on a main street the way some cars zip up to the stop sign and don't appear to want to stop till they are on the corner. I been in 2 major wrecks in a car and a p/u that involved elderly women. The one in town I had slowed for and was going about 30,, she turned in front from the opposite direction, totaled both cars. The second one was in sons p/u as passenger going 65 and coming off the curve and hill, lady pulls across the highway going to the other side cross road, totaled that one. In both wrecks the car was hit toward the rear quarter panel, luckily no one was killed. Son was left with 2 torn rotator cuffs that have had surgery twice now and he still has problems with them.
Just happy that this one turned out well by the looks of it, the sideposts may have been what helped on the car.
