I drove for a firm in the uk called RoadTrack and most of the drivers took speed, i even got offered it from the most of the drivers.
I walk into the office told them they can stick there job as i wasnt going to work for a cowboy outfit, i beleave no professional driver should take drugs.
I mean think about it, 44tons of truck being driven by some person smoking pot ect.I beleve most drivers that smoke pot ect think there safe if they drink loads of water ect days before a drug test, your wrong.

    Open your eyes.
How long do drugs stay in the system?
This table is shown as a guide only; days can vary depending on how much drug has been taken, body weight etc.

    Amphetamines - 1 to 4 days
    Barbiturates - 3 to 8 days (Phenobarbital 14 days+)
    Benzodiazepine - 3 to 6 weeks
    Buprenorphine - 3 to 6 days
    THC/Cannabis - 7 to 30 days
    Cocaine/Crack - 2 to 5 days
    Methamphetamine - 1 to 4 days
    Methadone - 1 to 7 days
    Opiates/Heroin - 1 to 4 days
    PXP/Propoxyphene - 1 to 4 days
    PCP/Phencyclidine - 3 to 8 days
    TCA/Tricyclic Antidepressants - 1 to 9 days

++"The drivers you are referring to, are local drivers. Although they may run out regional. I say this because you state plainly you know some drivers that hang at the local bar.

Many local drivers are with small outfits with 10 or less employees. They are subject to the same rules, per se. But, they are most likely given a heads up long before the test. Some may be Owner Ops operating under their own authority, that only have to submit a test at a time of their own choosing."++

    What?????????????
Last I heard we (O/O) MUST join a drug testing program to be in compliance with the law of random drug testing. We are in no way allowed to "choose" our own date and time for a RANDOM drug test. I can't recall ever getting such special treatment.

    1) There is no place in the trucking industry for drug use.
    2) Don't let me catch you on the road using them.. I will do everything I can to have you arrested.. Jetgang :biggrin_25516:

I don't understand how anyone can think doing drugs is ok.(smoking, popping pills, shooting up etc. ) . I attended my baby brothers funeral last week because of a drug overdose. He was only 37 yrs old. Has 3 beautiful girls. That will never see their daddy again.. And some think drugs is ok as long as your in your own house?? They destroy lives... I don't care if your driving a truck or in your own home...What the hell are you thinking??? Ya its your body but what about those who have to live with the last memory of you as drugs where the reason you left this world??? Or seeing you lay in a casket, and watch as they lower your body into the ground knowing they will never see you again, and how they never got to tell you how much they love you or how much they will miss you. Or say goodbye . Don't get me started I hate drugs and it kills me when someone thinks a joint won't hurt anyone... They only lead to something stronger. Believe me I have seen it first hand. And what it does to those left behind.

I have friends who smoke pot daily too (and have since the late 1960's). Last time I saw one of them, he still had the same dead-end job and still talked about things that happened 25 years ago as if they happened last week.

It's interesting how some of these drivers can do drugs....

We have random drug tests here and you never know when you are going to have to take one.

If I did drugs, I would be scared to death to be popped!

How would a driver only be caught at an accident scene? Is the drug test a blood test or is it still a urine test ?
