I never knew Knight to plan more than 3 days in advance when I left! You must have some good 'black mail' material on someone..or is your last name 'Knight?'![]()

No. I'm planned on Nestle and preplanned for Lewiston to Portland. He's looking to get me a load from Johnson. It almost always happens. Guaranteed. And when I get to LA. I swap my empty trailer at any Ikea store for a trailer of returns to go to Lebec and since there's 50 Ikeas in the Bay area, I'm guaranteed a load there.
-
50 in the Bay area!! I carried one once to one of the cities N. of Oakland (4got, had to go 'sharply' around a bldg all that I remember), but I was the only one of 5 trucks there who wasnt dedicated IKEA..they even took over my once 'sure' load back home for Tempe IKEA!
They also started locking up their MT's at IKEA and saved them for their dedicated Knight drivers...left me once w/o an MT leaving Burbank and couldnt get a load out of the L.A. area because...was the last time I took a Burbank load out of Lebec (over the hill, and 80 miles..what a loser)!!Last edited: Jul 30, 2012

That one's easy. The one in Palo Alto's a nightmare.... One time I took a 14 foot trailer in there and I swore the trailer was rubbing in places. After that if I go there I tell them to use the 13-6, I'm not taking another 14 foot into there. The docks are in an underground garage with cars all over the place.......

Course there's another Ikea with the docks under a bridge... You want me to do what? -
Where do you park your truck when you go home to San Jose (most I- exit ramps are No Trucks over 3T/5T)? That was the main thing I hated about the Bay area; didnt allow truck stops, the only rest area was 40 miles out east, and Knight didnt have a drop yard there..they loved the products trucks brought in, but they 'hated' big trucks!! -
I park it at my house. I drop my trailer in San Leandro and I go home bobtailed

I cant imagine a 'tractor' parked at a suburban residence..how could SF allow such a dastardly thing?! You must live on some land?
I got hassled in a N. Dallas suburb while parking in my parents driveway, well off the street--they didnt even allow RV's out front there! -
That's because I live in San Jose and in a gated community and I paid to park where my truck sits. No cops go in unless they have a compelling reason to.
-
I amazed!! Most places dont want those ugly tractors with all the greasy 5th wheel showing, etc. Count yourself 'lucky!' [well, until some idiot complains!]
If they do, then move to Oakland..anybody can do anything there..ha ha [altho they may strip your tractor down] -
There was a few complaints, but since that tractor is mine persay, with it in my reserved space and that I cleared it with the management all they can do is complain. I've lived there for 4 years and I've been parking my tractor there for the last 3.
