The way it's been explained to me central gets the refund, or pays the additional. Psumoose or bone collector can correct me if I'm wrong

i don't know why they don't teach or forbid people either. having properly adjusted brakes is the most important thing being a trucker.
you can either have an accident or you can get pulled over on the highway and be put out of service. neither would be enjoyable.

i have a pressure gauge on my truck. it normally reads 10. if it gets to 14 i know an adjuster isn't working and my brakes are out of adjustment. i keep em adjusted and get the slack replaced when i get back home.

like i stated before. a lot of you people make a big deal about how to determine if the brakes are out. all you gotta do is look at the breaks. any space between the shoe and drum and adjustment is needed. the wider the space. the greater the brake travel the harder your other brakes are working becuae you have to put more pressure trying to get just one to apply while all the others are already applied.

i think it's arsenine to not let the driver maintain there brakes. specially since they are usually automatics and can only turn one way. (basically). so you can't screw up and make em looser.

and automatics quit working ALL the time.

Hi guys. For those that don't know OTRM says to auto adjust by chaking the wheels, building preasure to 100+ apply break as hard as you can for 3-5 sec. Repeat 3-4 times. Now before I get jumped on I know that does not always work (rarely), I just wanted to toss it out there to help anyone who did not know.
They arw not teaching adjustment (at least not a year ago) they do teach how to release your breaks if they lock up with the allen wrench. Seems odd they will teach you how to disable the breaks, but not fix them.

On the fuel. I check every settlement like a hawk and I have noticed both positive and negitive fuel tax lines. I asked fuel and oermits and Linda said it was because I over paid ifta in various states, so we do get money back, is it all we desirve, I'm not sure, I don't know how all the laws work and I do not track my miles per state to determine it. I know they don't like to have company drivers fuel in OR because of the extra and optional step of putting in the PUC (fuel permit)# if they skip this step or put the wrong number in, (a lot of people put the usdot nouber in) there is an additional $0.30/gal fuel use tax. I would think they could just teach the students this, but I've had students whom I have told something to and asked them what I told them 10 min later and get a blank stare so maybe not.

Also yes Jessie is still there. He is great.

otrm sent me that adjustment process, but it didnt do any good at all. I cant figure out where the adjustment is, so im going to utility. luckily it'll be during my 10, so im not loosing anything over it. thanks for the info on ifta moose, i dont see why they dont give us the pretax amount so we can decide on fuel from there.

I agree p4p it would be nice for them to give us the pre tax price so we know the net cost of the fuel. But we could also look it up with a simple "Oregon fule tax" google, but sometimes I'm too lazy for that.
