Since my partner and I will do most all repairs I am leaning more to cummins & detroits. Cat parts are high but still a consideration. Planning on adding the Pittsburg box, FASS, and free flowing exhaust. If I need the power its there if not then I turn it down. So I should be able to get away with gears as tall as 390 with 400+hp and still be ok.

Macks are god come to earth! Great off road, pulled gas with an R w/camelback susp, got into the citrus nurseries in Sebring in the sugar sand and was unstoppable. had the 300+ w 5spd and full locks. back in mid 80s. Drove Visions with 485 Cats and super 10s, did real well, had no problems with them in early 2000s.
