Got a call from a recruiter with CRST and says they have a position open and are interested in hiring me. I thought well this may be my one and only chance being that I live in South Florida all I got from the other big companies that train was a big NO because no one else hires from this area but CRST does lucky me ! lol I was hoping I had one other offer for comparisons. I heard alot of bad raps about CRST so I'm going to do some more research and going to even have my dad call them up and act like he's interested in going there to get information out of them he's really good at that and would know what to ask. The recruiter so far has sent me the info packets via email about the training process and orientation I have'nt filled out an app yet until I get the verdict from my dad on what to do.I'll call them back tomorrow and will tell them I will have an answer by next Monday. Is there a wait time to make a decision or would I be ok for the next couple days until my dad can give them a call? I'm just trying to avoid jumping head first and signing an 8 month contract if it's going to be a big scam plus it's a very long bus ride from Florida to Iowa so really need to make a good decision but at this point it may be my only chance to get into trucking instead of paying for school out of pocket which I can't do right now. What do yall think anything good with this company or no? Thanks ~Ronnie~

Well if it's going to be my only offer from a company who offers company sponsored training then I guess I'll have no choice.Atleast on the bright side the contract is only for 8 months then I can bolt and try to get in with the company my dad works for and run with him as a team.

My fiance understands that it's going to be rough my first couple months for getting home time and on their website it says guaranteed home time and this and that.So if they think they are going to tell me this and that and say yea you'll have home time with no problem and I get out there and that changes I don't think I will be able to hold my composure. I just don't have time for bs ! and honestly if that's what it's going to be then I won't even take the offer. I'll bust my butt and do what is asked and do my job but don't lie to me and offer this and that if it is'nt true. It's a long bus ride to Iowa to get scammed and lied too.But it's hard to tell some people have good things to say and some have some bad things to say so I'm on the fence.I'll do 3-4 maybe 5 weeks out at a time max any longer is just ridiculous drivers have families too...

You're getting way ahead of yourself. You say the recruiter said thay have an opening and want to hire you. (the reality is they have 300 openings). Then you say you haven't even filled out an app yet, but they want to hire YOU. I would fill out an app, get "hired", then decide if you want to bus it to Cedar Rapids. 10 things can go wrong between now and your 8th month anniversary with CRST. Luck to 'ya.

    Evil_E Thanks this.

Recruiter called me today but I missed the call and got a voicemail saying he checked out my driving record and everything looks good so I guess he wanted to get me going with an app but I got off too late and will call him back tomorrow. I'll fill out an app guess i'm not totally obligated until I sign the contract.which is all I'm concerned with. I would hate to go through all this and just end up getting scammed and or stuck in the middle of Iowa somewhere left out too dry over some ridiculous reason and getting stuck with the bill for the training. I'll wait until my dad talks to them and go from there with it I trust his judgement and if he says it sounds good then I'll go for it.So we'll see.
