$1100 to the bank, after $100 in advances. His average isn't as high as some guys, BUT I've seen him MUCH more than I used to. (We live off of US412 between Tulsa and Stillwater in OK.) Next check will probably be less due to our daughter's 18th birthday on Monday. But that's ok. FOR US, it's not about the money, so much as the fact we see him MUCH more often, but the money is still better than he was getting as a company driver.

Sounds pretty good. Figured I would ask the person with the checkbook cause we all know how truck drivers like to stretch the truth. Lol

Yeah, asking the person in charge of actually PAYING the bills is a good idea, LOL! Seriously, he was out of work for about 3 months last year (between mechanic-ing and starting to drive). It's taken a while to catch up. But, the benefits to him trucking over wrenching? His anger and stress level. Benefit to the move to ACT: the stress level has gone down even more. Not having to scrape for things that cost over $100 at one shot. One good paycheck covers it. All the bills paid before the last week of the month. Seeing him more often than every 6 to 8 weeks. I think 15 days is about as long as we've gone without seeing him. Now, is it days at a time? No, wheels must turn for the truck to earn. But I'll take a few hours every couple of weeks over 2 - 4 days every 8 weeks any time.

I'll see him tomorrow for lunch. Then he'll be home Sunday for CityGirl's 18th b/day on Monday. He was home on the 15/16th.

This is exactly why I came here from Prime. It is a far better fit for me.

Plz explain. 1200 to the bank. 23% of that is taxes correct me if I'm wrong. Plus extra .5 % for self employment. 918.00 to the bank. Which is good money but I clear 700(taxes paid) with no headache no fuel no worries and am home by dark on Friday at the latest, and not leaving before noon at the earliest on Sunday.

I live in Indy, Part of the reason ACT is a great fit us because getting through Indy every other weekend and sometimes through the week is the norm. $1200 average before taxes. I set aside 10% of gross for all taxes.

90% of ALL small businesses fail. Trucking is no different.
