A lot of the dish companies also want you to put in a zip code for where you are. A lot of guys have dish set ups on their trucks. It's not that much of a pain. The biggest problems you'll have is where to mount it and finding out the zip where you are.
sb677 Thanks this. -
i see some guys put up a dish reciever clamped on thier truck when parked
I have a vuqube set up at home waiting for me to get there
will mount that on the back of the truck and take one of the house recieverssb677 Thanks this. -

Direct TV has a device called "Nomad". I think it's a one time charge of $150. First you record all your shows on to your home DVR. The Nomad will serve as a link to download all the recorded shows onto any mobile device (laptop, smart phone, tablet). Then you can take the device anywhere and watch with no mobile internet connection.

13 years ago. i had 2 fence pipes. one slid over the other. when i was parked. i simply raised the pipe up over the cab. the dish always stayed mounted on the pipe. this truck had load lock clamps that i used to clamp the pipes with.
the biggest hassle was finding the zip code and angling the dish. you not only had to find the correct degrees southward. but you had to have the correct angle also.
the company i work for now. keeps us pretty busy. i'm either driving or sleeping. very seldom do i have time to watch tv. but when i do. i'll just break out the laptop. i have a usb tv tuner for locals. not that it works that good anyways. since digital is much harder to receive then analog.
if they'd come out with a satellite tuner for laptops i'd probably be all over it. -

i wish i could sleep better even driving 600/day i twiddle my thumbs waiting for my 10 to go by. I am jealous snowwy

you have to program the tuner. like you do with any tv to pickup whatever stations are broadcast in the area. by doing a channel search. and if i had cable. i could screw that into the usb tuner instead of rabbit ears. and program it for cable channels by searching whatever is broadcast through the cable line.
a satellite tuner like that would be cool.
