My Schneider National journey....

I think 22 but 10 got cut from background check I guess. My class has been 12 students and all are still there so far but I think a few have not passed to the next phase yet. I got my green light to go with my TE on Sunday and they gave us a whole bunch of online training we need to complete by end of training. The trainers will be hard on you but they will do their best to help you pass if you have a good attitude. Just make sure to do your homework and try to get sleep don't watch Olympics all night like I am doing .

 

They are starting me at 28cpm western regional 2 weeks out 2 home. I think you will enjoy this companies training. Overall I am impressed. We are being trained on Century class freight shakers but I heard the fleet is mostly Cascadias now so I will be driving that week two with TE but then I will have a final road test back on the Century .

 

I had a DOT physical for driving school then Schneider had me do another at their doctor of choice and it was more involved. I had to do a breath test (blow hard into a device) not sure what it was testing. Hernia, and piss + hair follicle drug test. It wasn't too bad though. Once at Fontana OC for orientation I only had to do blood pressure, weight, and they check your heart rate to make sure you don't spike above your 90% of max which is 220 - your age *.09. It's called your PWS (pre work screen) but they want you to pass and you get small breaks in between exercises. And yes blood sugar is tested at all DOT physicals in piss test I think. That green medical card is good for 2 years and you need that before you can come to schneider as far as I know. Also, medical kicks in after 90 days of employment.

 

Your welcome. I am in Brigham UT right now on my 10. 2 days with TE and I have driven 392 + 495 miles already. We got to drop a load of paper to P&G at 0700 Mt. No pre assignment yet though. Both me and TE are sleeping in his cascading every night.
