Clas 1 Driver from BC Looking for work in Hinton AB (Oilfields)

Just wondering with what is going on? Anyone have anything to tell. Tried to get on with Trican been in there office about three times already without any phone calls back. Not real experienced so still a bit green to all of this. I know of a few places looking but it seems to be more on the clean up side of things mostly Vac trucks.
Any help would be appreciated as I was also over at Baker Hughes here and the guy told me they are at a hiring freeze right now. I am guessing in due to all of the rain making the roads a mud bog out there.

 

Yeah not 100% sure but from what I hear ASAP as well as All Star always seem to be on the look out all the time up here. I have had people up here that I know on the look out for me on what has been going on and my findings have found that constantly there has been adds.
I also am pretty new to this so I am not really sure if they would even so much as want to take a guy like me on is what my main problem is. Like I say I know nothing about them so it is not that I would not work for them it is just that from what I see in those adds there looking for guys that have been around a little too that have some years in.
I think there kind of one of the smaller operations so more often than none it leaves a bit of a sour taste in there mouths to have a rook like me out there working with them I think or at least that is what I gather just from reading with what they are posting in the adds they run.
That is why I am doing my best to stick to some of the bigger operations as it seems like most of the bigger operations have a better training system in place and do not mind spending the time to show how things are done. One of the smaller places I went to when I talked to the guy the guy was a real prick to me with a big egotistical way about him that actually turned me off right then and there anyways.
More often than none these are the guys that are either getting themselves or others hurt plain and simple which it is not like I have not been around the horn myself and the guy was almost like calling me down until I told him all the past industrial experience that I have had that was not showing on my resume soon after I just walked out I have no time for people like that.
