Sorry about your truck, if that says fastrax on the door, sorry to say your screwed. Lost mine in sept 06 and got screwed big time from the company. Mine was only 3 weeks old and had 13,000 kms on it. Lost about $15,000 from what they wouldn't pay.

    Elroythekid Thanks this.

Nope it's an 07 and with Clarke. They self insure, ded. Is 5k. I'll see what they come up with. I have lots of records and have trade in values from 2 different dealers which is wholesale. So time will tell. I'm not sure what to do with a new one, will prob buy some gap insurance of some sort to make sure if something happens early on I'm covered for the whole thing.

I'm not sure gap insurance is a good idea. I know your situation is FAR different than mine was, but the gap insurance I tried once ultimately came out to be a big chunk of my money in the dealer's pocket. Just my $0.02 on it.

Just glad you're ok and best of luck on getting this straightened out.

If the dealer test drove the truck, and allowed the OTHER buyer test drive the truck, then I'd be looking at getting a lawyer since you were no the last one to control the truck.

Well... Appraiser got 3 wholesale quotes from dealers so value came out at $40080 minus $5000 deductible and I get $35080. I definetly can't replace it for any where near $40000, never mind $35000. 07 387 c15 new clutch, all new virgin michelins, APU with $3kspent on it in the last couple months. Not happy but I don't seem to have any recourse. If I fight it gonna take a long time to deal with it. As is the company has 30 days to cut me a cheque by law, and I guess the CEO hates doing it..... Let the games begin.....

If you've got receipts for all that stuff, then fight it.

I'd put up a stink until I got the fair value for it all. NEVER accept their first offer.

Reminds me of a Larry the cable guy line.

Sorry to hear about the truck, glad you weren't in it.

Why would they go off wholesale pricing? You don't get to buy at wholesale.

Insurance payouts are usually based on BOOK PRICE ( wholesale ) and then adjusted for mileage , condition and added items ( same as trading it in ) , but you never really come out ahead on it.
