Yess u rigth about my writing I'm connected whit my phone and I have it set up in spanish so I dint change the settings so when I star texting in English it goes crazy sorry about that anyway got it fix..if u really made $800.00 average a week well could be possible u may have a better FM than I had or maybe the got new ones so it could be possible also they sent me a letter asking me to put any info about what they should change to make it a better company.so I did and thet send ne $25.00 for helping then to improve and become a better company.so they must have really read what me and the other ex drivers told them for them to work better and thats very good to heard that they are makin some changes.the earnings I did while a work there u need to understand that it wasn't because I was a lazy driver ,,thats what got me upset 10-4 and I wasn't the only one there was a couple drivers I talk to that told ne the same thats why I put what happend to me over there.not beacuse I like to be negative and blah blah about companys couse I don't I just share my own experience ok...people must know that must of this companys is like gambling it could be betteror worse for them and PTL is one offf those companies.also if I work for a company that I'm happy whit I be the fisrt one letting know others about it.so in glad u are doing good whit them I wish that was my story too but not!!

HMMMMMM.mje Thanks this. -
Thank you all for your post. Maybe I'll just go with being a company driver for them. How are the medical benefits ?
mje Thanks this. -
Got to wait 6 months for the insurance to kick in. It is Anthem/Blue Cross & it's not cheap...If I remember it's like $125-$150 a week for the family plan... With a $1500 deductible. The only reason I didn't take it was my wife has the same plan already(Cheaper at that). Their reasoning for the 6 month wait was that most drivers leave after 4.2 months(Or they say the national average is that). They do have an start up plan that is until the regular kicks in for the 1st 6 months also that you can take out.
Just to let everyone know I am on a 30 day medical leave form them & this is the info I have as of the 1st of August.
I do recommend drivers go to PTL as a COMPANY DRIVER only!
No way in HELL would I do it as an O/O or lease purchase unless I had my own loan through a bank or if it was paid off. No way No how!
If you read my earlier posts I am/was on a dedicated run for a company out of my home town.
I am now on medical for some neck rpoblems. I tried to get a truck swapped out instead of the '09 FreightSHAKER! I was in. Well due to Mr. Fox not wanting to do this I am now off to go get some cortizone shots for my neck...Only problem I can't get in until later this month.
So my FM said lets do the medical thing get some shots & come back...By then the Xmas rush will be on & delivering up to 4 or 5 days a week.
If you do come here & live close to the Southern Indiana area. I would recommend doing this.
But be aware you won't be home much until late December because of the Xmas deliveries. I did make some great $$ last season. & when the 20th hit I was off until the 5th or so of January... So I was home for both holidays.mje Thanks this. -
Thank you. I appreciate the responses. I've decided to go with Big G Express out of Shelbyville. TN. I hope they live up to their hype.
mje Thanks this. -
Big G express nice I heard they are ok good luck!

What's the pay, home time policy and the equipment like crappy good etc at PTL? Have been approved and they (PTL) just need to know when I want to start orientation. Would just like to find out the good facts and nothing negative before I decide to leave my current company in go there. Of course I'm going to have them go over my application again to double check and to make sure safety doesn't find any discrepancies that they didn't catch before. Wanna make sure everything's in check before I go. Any info would be appreciated
mje Thanks this. -
I was making 33cpm. I was pulling a good pay check because of the dedicated run I was on. the pay isn't split like it used to be now, they changed that I think in June.
I am no longer ther because I am trying to get my neck pain strightend out. I was popping too many pain pills IMO, so I left. If I could continuassly do the unloads I would still be there. The trucks all have apu's,e-logs & such. From the monthly magizine I got last... they were installing the GPS on the qualcomm.
Not sure where you live, but if it is close to Evansville,In. I mean within 50-75 miles. You could get on the TJ dedicated like I was on. I would go from Evansville,In to Omha,Ne. Then to Lincoln,Ne. then to Grand Island,Ne. From the last stop I would go pick up a quick load to take back to Evansville,In. I enjoyed it alot because I knew that when I got in I could sleep in my own bed for atleast 1 night & go back out without taking any of my days off. I had checks usually bringing home $900 or more. The biggest thing I didn't care for was the forced PerDiem. But you did bring home more money. If you got any quetions just shout back at me.mje Thanks this. -
Okay. Sounds good so far. I live in NC (Asheville) Area anything good around this area? Also read something about them allowing pets? Or is tht just for O/O? Also honestly if not on a dedicated run what can i really expect as far ad home time?
mje Thanks this. -
They do allow pets. I think you have to put up a $500 deposit($50 per week). But you only get $250 back if you leave.
You must purchase a lock combo set(king pin & pad lock) from them also for $10 per week until paid. It sounds high I know. But it is mandatory. The home time thing for OTR drivers they say 1 day home for every 6 days out. I always banked mine & took 5 off at a time. Also I have heard of drivers not getting home when they wanted too. They say in orientation one thing. But alsways get another when you are out there. It does have alot to do with your dispatcher/FM.You knw they give you the run around of no freight going there, hey swap this out, ect. Just be firm with them. Or tell them to just route you back to Murray,Ky. That will let them know either you are quitting or that you want to talk to somone. I have seen them do a 180 & magically find a load going somewhat close toyour house.
Living in Asheville. I would say there are loads going there. I actually hauled one out there once while doing some non dedicated runs duing last January. Before my regular picked back up.
Also. If you do not want run NYC,or Northeast you don't have to either. Those are options they will give you too.
They no NE means nothing further up from I think RI & no east of far east Pa... So none of that BS in that area.
Also if you go with the LP...I wouldn't touch that with 53' pole!!!! I saw way too many loose their rear-ends! Don't do it.Can't stress that enough!
The pay per mile, the fsc is not good at all with you getting the only benefit of turning down a load...mje Thanks this.
