Well I must say to your reply ive not seen any tractor over 2 yrs old except the Owners specialty trucks. And anyone can say what they like . Im speaking for me... Never spoke for anyone else I dont believe. And im veey happy with PRIDE. They have treated me very well...

during orientation, I assume you must do a road test. is it given in a truck or on a simulator?
-
I have never done a road test in anything but an actual truck. The man who does it at Pride is pretty laid back.

Been reading a lot of the threads on the forum and all the info has been very valuable to me. I'm just getting ready to graduate from CDL school so I'm collecting all kinds of infor from all. Of course I want to make the right decision as to who to drive for, regional or national, refer or dry, maybe the LTL route...I don't know but I know I can count on getting good reliable info from the truckers report forum.
Thanks all!

They take you out in a truck, take you on a few tight corners to see if you hop any curbs, take you on one or two clover leafs to see if you know your off-tracking. Then you bump a dock to test your backing skills. Nothing too difficult.
I totally butchered my backing but after a few pull ups I got it. That's all they want to see. -
Hevans Angle.... Sounds like you are having a good experience... I am getting ready to hire on with Pride Inc.... or I might go with Swift. I live in Sacramento Califonia.. I am concerned about my home time when I eventually get it.. Does Pride do a pretty good job at getting you home when you ask for it.... ??? I am leaning towards Pride... Can anyone tell me if they would choose Pride over Swift and why??
-
Here's my take. With pride you will be out 4to 6 weeks a lot. Sometimes you will get home on time, sometimes you won't. I wouldn't even be considering Swift. I'm assuming since your considering pride you either already have your license or you are about to get it(last I heard pride doesn't provide CDL training, just polishing). If being home often is your biggest concern I would consider Knight dry van, they have a secure drop yard right there in Sacramento where you can park you vehicle while working and your truck while off. You only have to stay out for a week to 10 days at a time and then can take one to two days off. If you stay out longer you still only get to take one to two days off though. Another big advantage to Knight is that training is NOT team driving with your trainer.
If making money, running all over the country, and driving well cared for equipment is what you want then look no further then Pride. -
Rizen... thank you so much for your input... I appreciate it.... I am prob gonna go with Pride.... Be safe and take it easy...

Let me update my previous statements quoted here. This was written prior to seeing that Pride Transport as a whole was ok however when you have a 4 wheeler cause a problem Pride Safety Director who is differant since I started is the first to jump ship on you. Oh and it was my first accident since I started driving a vehicle and my first ticket ever. And no one was hurt and I got one ticket thats only 168 bucks if I dnt fight it.
