I believe there is a new competitor for the in motion tracking systems. Vu Qube is a device about the size of a qualcomm receiver dome and costs about 800.00 installed as compared to the KVHA-7 Tracvision low profile automatic in motion system listing for almost $2900.00. I beleive with either system though you need a paid subscription to either dish network or direct tv.

I was going to put my 13" TV in my truck and and I had a 75 watt inverter. That didn't work so I went out and bought and 175 watt inverter and when i try to turn the tv on the surge protect comes on. I got the tv in 2001. Anybody have any ideas. The draw on the sticker on the tv says 70 watts.

We have two dvrs with our cable company. I plan to set one up to record several movies/shows prior to going out on a run and just reload when I get home time. Wouldn't work for news or anything like that, but fine for movies, ect.

I use this new software called Webguide which is basically an addon for Media Center. It lets you watch your home TV over the internet on your laptop much like a slingbox and it works great. Its free too and requires no hardware.

Safe thing to do is 6x your planned wattage. You need to plan for "Surge" wattage. Surge is usually the initial amount of power needed to turn something on or get it running. Kind of like Peak Power. So say your tv is 70 watts, 6x would be 420 watts. So a 400/800 Peak should be Ok. I've use a Coleman 400/800 for that kind of a setup.

Does this work on the 3G network or just through EVDO? I have got a sprint card and was curious if the slingbox would work all the time or just through major cities.

    to answer your qestion.

i have a 13" T.V. think we paid 300.00 for it a few years back it is a TV/vcr combo but it is 12volt or 110. so i can plug it in in the truck or at the house.

I do how ever plan to take the PS2 i have here for the DVD capability.
I also have a dvd head unit for my car that i thought of changing out and taking wiht me but not sure it will work .

you can do this also just get a cheap on on Eslave and use the head unit and plug in a screen as big as ya want or need.

Also for movies not sue if yall have heard this or not but NetFlix is now on line you can go out and get movies and download them to your lap top and it is pretty comparabil to renting a movie at home or pay per veiw.

just a thought on how to get the current movies for rent.
