i was once told by my dad, "once a dog gets a taste of fresh blood, they are no longer to be trusted".
i agree with that.
that dog can hunt and kill anything now, just for the fun of it. i certainly do hope you do not have babies at home, or neighbors that have babies.
that dog can be put down as vicious some day if it even so much as snips at a human.

I don't agree with that statement at all, as that would make all police dogs "vicious" as well, since they have all tasted fresh HUMAN blood when they caught their first suspect. A well trained dog isn't going to attack anything it isn't supposed to. One of this dog's jobs around the house is to keep the yard bunny free. Once the bunny leaves the yard? He stops chasing it. He knows what he can go after and what he cannot....as well as where he is allowed to go and where he is not.
Hell, just the other day I put a paper plate containing several bits of hot dog on the floor. Did he try eating from it? No. He came over to me and rested his head on my knee, looked at the plate, and back up at me...as though he was asking if he could have those hot dog bits. I hadn't specifically told him that it was OK to eat the hot dog bits from the plate, so he wasn't going to try until I said it was OK for him to do so.
I was even complimented a few weeks ago at a fuel stop. There was another dog owner with his dog on a leash occupying the grassy area I usually send my dog over to...so when I let him jump out of the truck and he started over there, I called him, pointed to a different grassy area, and he went where I directed him. A guy fueling his pickup couldn't believe the dog listened to me as well as he did....but my dog knows I am the alpha, and does what I tell him to do.
Besides, my dog ain't near as vicious as its owner.RickG and scottied67 Thank this. -

Unfortunately "trusted" producers of pet food are for more interested in using cheap ingredients to make higher profit than they are in the health of your pet . I bought a bag of Purina Beneful then read this review . http://www.dogfoodadvisor.com/dog-food-reviews/beneful-dog-food-dry/ . It is very difficult to find a dog food that is truly healthy .
x#1 Thanks this.
