i understand the points made but now the thing is if celadon is having problems keeping drivers and need any warm body to fill a truck then why fire a whole company of drivers you just bought out?
seems it would be hard to keep up with the customer base that way and i have talked to some celadon drivers that said that most of the drivers from usa dry van kept their jobs.

i feel sorry for none of these companies myself as i have felt screwed over by companies thru dispatchers that push too hard to make money for the company or human resources people that when you talk to them about it say "well we want drivers that want to work" and hope they all pay for their attitudes but i just have a hard time buying that all drivers got fired in this deal.

The point of this Thread is to let people know of the WARN Act.
    Worker Adjustment
and Retraining Notification Act (“WARN Act”), 29 U.S.C. §§ 2101-2109.
In Dec 2008 they bought-out Continental Express, Inc. of Little Rock AR.
and the class action against Celadon is almost coming to a close.
I expect to get over $10,000.00. Do the math 60 days is 8 1/2 weeks.
So my average per week was 850.00 b4 tax.
8.5x850.00=7,225 and then interest on top of that from Dec 2008

I never said ALL DRIVERS WHERE LET GO. I know that almost all office workers at
USA Dry Van of McAllen, Texas and Continental Express, Inc did not have a job within 2weeks
    of the buy-outs.

Here is the newest info on 8/23/2012 former employees of non-party Continental Express, Inc.

What becomes of the year contract that C1/Drivers Solutions students have with USA? If they are not employed for 12 months from upgrade to pay back the tuition, whether they are fired or quit (makes no difference), they have to pay $6000 vs $2000. So, is Celedon (Or Driver's Solutions) coming after them for the full $6000 because they didn't work for a full year as well as taking what is in their Driver's Savings Account that was made from mandatory weekly payroll deductions to repay tuition at the end of the year? If so, then they are making several thousand dollars per person as an incentive to fire them.
