Nice old dog there! Interesting to see how much has changed, and how much hasn't changed.

These had air wipers and a wig wag low air warning. A big motor in those days was either the 220 Cummins or if you really wanted to truck you ordered it with the 250 Cummins. Most of the fleet versions came with the 238 Detroit.

Driving those old trucks everyday was like daily participation in the Rodeo!

that truck is neat, i don't think it would be a good yard goat but would still be awesome to restore and have

The Super 250 was the forerunner to the Shiney 290, the only difference was the 290 had a turbo. The units with a Cummins had a compression release inside the cab so you could get it started in the cold weather. You would release the compression by pulling out on the compression release handle and start to spin it over, once it started spinning over pretty well you shoved the compression release back in and hopefully it started. If not start the whole procedure over again.

The Super 250 had a turbo, where as the 220 was naturally aspirated.

Tank. thanks for the link! Some good-lookin' old trucks there down-under. Be a neat restore with the old Detroit for entertaining noise!
