Tell your friend the TE only gives his opinion if he is ready for the sqt, drive legal, tge te isn't allowed to do that. Your allowed to switch TE.. Just call the newbie manager at your oc. Your te could say your a driving maniac, tge osr are going to still going to give you your sqt if you ask for it. There ere plenty of people who want things done right, dont let the one TE throw you for a loop

Well after our first load the truck wouldn't idle or start after it died. Had to tap the starter to get her going. Spent 12 hours at the oc waiting on the shop. Got going and been good til we got to laredo, got there 0500, no load til the after noon. The load scaled 37800 on the dives in the 2nd home so ee brought it back to laredo, sat tim 2330 and finally got moving again.

In that note, anyone know how we will be paid for the overweight load? Only drive it 18 miles total

well, 2012 Cascadia, 52k miles, heading east on I66 in Virginia and my radiator blows!

Sitting waiting for SEM to call back, and for another driver to come recover my load so it can be delivered on time.

My guess is I will not be getting home for my TAH on Thursday :biggrin_2553:

sitting at the Gary OC waiting to deliver a load in Chicago in the morning. Went in and started a load of laundry and smelled the food and decided a cold bologna sandwich seems more appealing than what they have. If anyone is here today, let me know, maybe we can meet and say hi.

Well, after getting towed 130 miles on Saturday to the Fontana OC, the last part for my truck has arrived and I should be ready to roll in 15 minutes.

Hubby and I are sitting at the Family Garden Inn (Great Place) after a 7600 mile week. We are waiting on a 34 hour reset.

Yes there are "tons" of bad companies out there. Sadly, there is no one to blame but ourselves.

My company is a nation wide chemical distributor in the U.S.A. with locations around the globe. Obviously, I can only speak of my location.

Drivers work Monday thru Friday and are home every afternoon. Drivers are paid by the hour with overtime after 8 hours. Saturday work is all overtime and Sunday work is all doubletime. Holiday work (12 holidays) is doubletime and a half if worked. If not, 8 hours paid for the day. Six sick days paid at 8 hours. Can bank up to 12. If you do not use those days, you will be paid for 6 sick days at the end of the year and given an additional 6 days again in January for a total of 12. Vacation varies by years of service, from 1 to 6 weeks. All vacation is paid at 1 5/2 of your previous years gross. Jury duty is paid at 8 hours per day. Health, dental and vision costs $144.00 per month. It doesn't matter if your single or have a family. The cost is the same. Retirement is completely paid by the company. Short and long term disability paid by the company. DOT physical is paid by the company. TWIC card is paid by the company. Drivers license renewal is paid by the company. Unforms and safety gear are provided by the company. Uniforms are also laundered by the company. $150.00 boot allowance provided by the company. If they wear out before the year is up, another $150.00 boot voucher will be given to the driver with proof of the worn out boot. Cell phones (I-phone or Blackberry) provided and paid for by the company. I think that covers the major items.

Now for the boring part. I can start whenver I want but I choose to start at 0330. I drive to the same customer every day. Around 340 miles. It takes 11.5 hours to complete the run. Sometimes it takes longer but I don't mind because I am paid for all of my time. While some might find this boring, I love it. I can plan my work day around things I want to do in the afternoon. As of July 27th, my gross income was $53,725.71. I get paid this Thursday.

Now you can see why if I post my day on here everyday, it would get boring in short order.

Also, none of those catch phrases that companies are so famous for like; sign on bonus, fuel bonus, longevity bonus, on time bonus, DOT inspection bonus, driver associate, team member, we care, your not a number, we treat you like family, potential or any other BS phrase they feel they can use to suck you in. If you fall for it, it's nobody's fault but yours.
