That's funny, because I always joke with my husband about how hard it is to find a Subway at a truck stop, lol. But seriously, I use the iPhone app to tell me which Pilots do NOT have a Subway.

Got back from my week two out with TE. I drove 1310 miles. Most were from my first two days but the only load going west had a late appointment so we had to take a 34 at Loves in Cedar City UT. I got a little experience with shippers, consignees in N Las Vegas and Riverside, El Monty but not many miles the last few days. Now I get to relax for the weekend at BW in Ontario before week 3 class room stuff. Next week is soft skills like trip planning and MCP 200 computer. We will get some drive time with our week one trainers then take our final testing. My TE had a new Cascadia and the shiftingt was a little rough. Also, whenever I used his jake brake I had a tough time shifting so I had to turn it off before shifting. I am just glad to be out of the heat. I really wish Schneider would put APU's in their trucks because I hate sweating while I "try" to sleep.

It is, unless your TE thinks you need more training. My TE had an apu in his cascadia. Not common tho. I was also told they are trying out 300 built in power inverters 1500watts.. Hopefully good things for the future

Well that is encouraging, I will keep my fingers crossed I guess. I meant week two of my three weeks of training was out with the TE.

Vitamin D is wrong about having to have a 2 yr DOT physical card to get hired by Schneider. I personally know this because my card isnt for 2 yrs. I'm in my 3rd week as a solo driver on a dedicated account and getting great miles. Only bad thing is that I am running in and out of Chicago every couple days but as long as I am only going to the outskirts of Chicago, i'm not gonna complain. I did my training at Indy and they have the best food of any of the OC's that I have been to and prob the nicest too. Good luck to ya and keep updating you journey.

West Memphis used to have the very best burger years ago, then they started using frozen beef and it dropped off but still good. Fontana had really good food too. But i haventbeen there in 4 yrs so its probably changed as well.
