MTI- August 27, 2012 Richfield, WI

Sounds good, I am going to try and soak up as much as I can from Chris during those 3 weeks. How many did you have in your class and did any drop out or not make it to the end?

 

Well my plans changed ... I will be starting next monday July 30th instead of August 27th. I am stoked to get started on monday !! Have everything ready to go and set.

 

Just excited to get started mostly!! I was going to give my current employer a full 6 week notice but decided to just do the 2 week notice and start next monday with Millis. I am just ready for the change and get started. With getting the permit and dot fed med card I was good to go, so why not !! Financially I think we have enough set aside to cover the weeks coming up with no income coming in so should be fine there. And my mind just isn't into my current job and totally in learning to drive with Millis. So just felt to just get it started! I honestly was being over cautious previously probably and should of just set on the July 30 date in the first place. Glad it is all working out now though!

I hear there will be 4 of us in this class in Richfield, don't think any of the other 3 are posting here that I have noticed, so i will try to update on Friday evenings when I come home for the weekends.

 

We live near Appleton West HS ... just south of Wisconsin Ave and Badger intersecton. My dad lives near you in Darboy.

 

First week in the books!! A lot of class room time, wednesday was bobtailing around the busy yard. Ton's of trailers in the terminal that came from up at SCA I believe. Today was all straight line backing and off set backing. We have 3 in the class. 2 of us are doing good, one is kind of on the fence and hopefully will come around yet. Not sure if I seen any members from this forum or not but talked to a good handful of drivers.

I am 100% positive I went with the right company though, feel very confident now that I finally made the move into this career. Looking forward to next week already!

 

Down to only 2 in our class now. One left one Monday this week. Other than that it's been a fun smooth time with only 3 days left of training than onto orienation next week! Today we are doing our night drive so don't start until later this afternoon. This past 3 weeks have flown by, hope the on the road training part flies by just as fast too, will be a little interesting living in a box with someone I am not married to for 5-8 weeks lol
