I would love to give you a run down. I have teamed with significant other, a friend, and finally my husband. I have also driven solo and been a trainer. I love this job and am told that I have some great advice. Feel free to PM me. There is too much variable to really get into here.

The biggest thing is respect. You have to learn to work both together and separately. You cannot depend on the other person all the time, you have to carry your own weight. I think it is great when teams can work together like KatK, but I gotta tell ya, if my husband woke me up in a big city, I'd kill him! Mostly because if I did finally get into a good sleep, I will never get it back lol.

We are flexible on the shifts, really depends on the loads for us. There are times where I drive all nights for weeks on end, and times where I only drive days.

It is so important to take your time together OFF the truck whenever you can. If you are sitting somewhere waiting for your next load, grab a hotel room. Get away from the truck. You also have to respect each other's private time. For me, I need that. But I have also been out here alone and have my routines. With us, it was very difficult because you put two hard headed trainers in one truck and finding that balance was a challenge.

Every team will run it differently and you have to find what works for you, but as KatK stated, you ABSOLUTELY MUST ALWAYS HAVE EACH OTHER'S BACK!

    Lenrod and SavageSam Thank this.
