I've got a 2011 377 medium duty. When I've got the vents on and the heat control turned full cold the vent air is about 30 degrees warmer than the outside air. When I turn the temperature control knob to full cold and full hot I can hear the mixing door operate and sounds like it is closing when it stops. It thumps like a door closing. Is this air temperature difference normal? Would it help if I valved off the hot water hose to the heater in the warm months so the ductwork area doesn't pick up heat from the heater core?

it always helps to shut off the water to the heater core, why would you want a big block full of 200 degree water sitting there if you're trying to cool the cab ?
aiwiron Thanks this. -
Thanks for the reply. Can I just cut the supply hose and clamp in a brass valve, or the return hose or both?

ALWAYS run on recirculate, never fresh air.

Most have a shut off valve for the cab hose on the engine.
