What does running hard mean to you?

Please don't think I was bragging. Because the guy that taught me, was over 60 years old, and could run over 200,000 miles solo.

Point being, everyone is different. Some people can't sit for 10 hours. Some people can't sleep more 6 hours.

BTW, the EOBR came into play because someone invented it, and marketed it to big companies as a means for their customers to show they are "safer" than the other companies. Then the DOT decided they could use it as a means of revenue and clearing up investigations.

Which is why I own my own truck without an EOBR. I'm kind of attached to the whole "freedom of the road" thing. Qual Coms, EOBR's and other tracking devises just seems to take that freedom part away. Leaving you with only "the road".

 

To the OP: to answer your original question; "what does it mean to run hard?" If you have to ask, you wouldn't understand.

 

running hard is very dangerous, its like running with sissors..you could hurt yourself...

Agreed, I run hard but I won't go past my limits. As in dozing off at 65mph+

There's a difference between running hard, and running too hard.

 

running hard in the old terms meant to run illegal on hours period. in times past, years ago when i was younger i have run 30 hours plus only stopping for fuel, that was considered back then running hard. when one would run to the west coast from new york only stopping a few times for food and fuel that was considered running hard. hardly anyone runs hard like that any more. still a few out there, owner operators and wildcats do it.
