In that thread, i was speaking to the fact of a WS glider with a stock CAT motor. Now if he wanted to build the glider and spend the $$$ on the upgrades, then it would be worth it. And as I said, a WS with a 12.7 in it might do pretty well. I have no idea because all the one's I know of have C15's or the horrible 14L Detroits. I had started a thred elsewhere about my truck getting bad MPG when i got it last year. Along the way it slowly got better as i learned it's quirks and where/how to drive it. Then i did the upgrades and things got much better. But if I put a container on the deck, my MPG goes to crap from dragging all that wind. So i try to book freight that gets me my best MPG on a run.

Like I said above, my truck stock did horrible. I had to learn a few things and do some upgrades to get it to where I wanted it. And you have to keep in mind, i drove a FLD120 flat-top before and avg'd over 8mpg with it pulling anything. Going to the 5mpg was a HUGE shock to me..... but I've got it better. just have to drive it differently than the other truck

Seems to me like I made you two upset. You and I both know ur ws ain't lighter than a volvo, and you don't get but 5-6mpg. Must have had this conversation in a truckstop and got embarrassed, lol. Don't take it out on me, YOU'RE the one with bad fuel mileage on here fronting like u getting 8mpg!!! We all know the truth so stop lying to this rookie, misleading him. U should be ashamed of yourself. And your math sucks. So give urself a pat on the back for parking your truck in a spot the first try, it took years of hauling a short container to do it in broad daylight, LMFAO. BTW, if you spent half the time working on your mpg as you do typing on this site, you would get 8.5mpg in a western star(oh so u say). Be an example for the young rookie, will ya??? I dont like volvos!!! Hey. An 69chevy, you go right ahead and hang yourself with 800/wk expenses on a lease...Remember I told you so!!! Now I'm going were people take like they have some sense, not argue. So BE SAFE while I roll over and get my lady bones, and DONT TEXT WHILE YOU'RE DRIVING.

I never lied. Your inability to comprehend a post is your downfall. I have more integrity than you will ever have, and always will, Not to mention more common sense.

Don't listen to him shc, people will always be jealous that you have a badA truck and get good MPG. I believe your MPG claims since I got a buddy who used to be on this board but ain't on too much anymore running a Pete midroof with a box behind him getting close to mid 7's. Its definitely doable.

Shoot I could get 9mpg if I drove the way I drive plus only go about 55 everywhere. The fact still remains you can get good MPG out of a hood truck

Of course you can, if it wasn't possible then there would be no hood trucks around, we would all be broke, and driving around in ###### looking bubble trucks and trying to mimic company drivers.

Thats what I would do, the less money you have to hand over to the bank every month is more money for you to do as you wish. Every truck I have ever owned has been a hood, no aero for me, so the nay-sayers that tell you you will go broke don't know everything, because I am still rolling down the road making money, in a truck that looks good.
