hope you got detention. $165 is nothing to scoff at, unless it costs you a load

Yeah. I will be but it ain't the money, it's the principle of it. Slow ### slack ### people are a large part of why our economy is in the crapper. It's almost like people expect a days wages for a 1/4 days work. What happened to being thankful to have a job and doing your best to make sure you keep it? Taking 7.5 hrs from the first lift on the trailer to last to unload 1345 cases on slip sheets is not what I'd call good business practice.

I agree with you there. I used to run a floor polishing business, and trite as it may be, good help is hard to find. Half the people wouldn't show up, another 1/4 obviously just showed up to get a paycheck and weren't interested in working, and of the remaining 25% only about half of them had what it took to keep up the pace for a 9-14 hour day. People really are lazy.

The fact is, we bust our tails to get their shipments delivered on time or before and they take they're sweet ### time unloading us. These places have absolutely no respect for our time or our profession . Yes some drivers act up and look the part of degenerate idiots, but the stupidity or ignorance of a few does not constitute lack of respect to the true professional driver. Lack of preparation or readiness of the shipper and recievers also does not constitute an emergency on the part of the driver but it always tends to make the job interesting.

Thats what I did. Skype is a great help. I read my kids bed time stories via Skype, we each have a copy of the books. I also was able to "see" my daughter sing in the church Christmas program. It's not the same as being there, but it sure beats the old days when drivers had to find a pay phone to call home.

What do they care they are paid by the hour, they make more going slower. They should start paying by the case or by the pallet, you will be unloaded in 1 hour or less and they will be yelling at you to get out of the door so they can unload the next truck. There is something to be said for preformance based pay.

i don't think they make more going slower. they are just doing as little as possible. as they are probably limited to 8 hours.

I spoke with Nancy at Central via email. Unfortunately central cannot do any background checks or criminal history check until I get to SLC first. I have a class b misdemeanor which I told her about but she couldn't guarantee there wouldn't be problems because of it. I'm not willing to gamble on quitting my job and head out to SLC and my past may or may not have an affect. Central refrig has been crossed off my list......NEXT!

your gonna have a background check no matter who you go with. school wise.

NEXT, would be to have it expunged then you won't have to worry about it. no one can see something that isn't there. and you won't have anaything to explain.

it's a do it yourself process. no lawyer involved. just a little time on your part.

    Sam Hell Thanks this.
