Yeah the atlanta kroger is crazy if you go in there with a 53' trailer and hood, the people there are decent about getting you unloaded but the docks are a whole different bear.

First driving job (A.H. Fulton) in the early '90's as a local driver. Their Atl terminal was right up the road; road drivers came in with beverage loads and left them on the lot and I carried 'em to Kroger. Rookie with informal training I was - felt like getting thrown in the deep end! Really don't miss that and this thread reminds me why.
At that time in history they gave you a electric pallet jack and told you to unload yourself. "What? What if I screw up and/or hurt somebody?" They surely don't still do that - do they?!
Went there so many times they let me in almost as soon as I arrived (don't hate me 'cause they liked me). One load I touched the dock without even having to straighten-up (proud moment!); back to the terminal and 30 min later to return, must have had to rev-fwd-rev at least 7 times to get it in (they are called 'rub rails' on a van too, aren't they?).
Now I pull a flatbed which means I can't back at all... -
Thought I would add to this thread while sitting here waiting and waiting.... Drove in from the Loves N. of town on I-75 with a fresh 10. Got here about 21:00 for a 22:00 ap. Saw a gal walking down the street from the Pilot on my way in. Hmmm, wonder what she was up to out in the cold night? Drove into the gate and was directed back out to park. (didn't read this thread yet) Found a spot on the turnaround street and walked in my papers. Had 2 men bother me for $, food, cigs.... After one guy figured out I wasn't going to give up anything or even roll down the window for that matter he then showed me something in his hand that I am assuming were drugs of some kind to see if I was interested. I was thankful it wasn't a gun. He finally left and I was able to grab a nap. Call comes at 03:00 to get a door. Tight back getting in but I've seen worse. Helped another driver next to me who struggled. It is now 06:30 and they STILL haven't even started unloading yet! If you ever come here I hope your luck is better. Haven't had one this bad in a long time (or ever? still not out of here yet!!!).
