I got to think'n about another thread about DOT record/info about false info...so what exactly is on that record? Does it have evry DOT regulated employer we have ever worked for on it? I'm helping my friend fill out an aplication and he asked me if he had to list all his employers as he has one employer he doesnt want to list because well he and a dispatcher squared up and he bonked the dispatcher in the nose...oops...I knew the situation and actually any one would have been hard pressed not to take the disp. Head off but needless to say does he have to list that employer....What does a company see when they pulll a DOT record? Phewwww my fingers cramping hahaha..TIA

DOT doesn't keep records on drivers . You may be thinking of a DAC report but many companies don't give them any info.
-
How long did he work for the company where he bonked the dispatcher ? If he doesn't list it howwill he explain that gap in employment ?
-
He said there is only a 2 month gap and beccause up here alot of us work alot of hrs and the we can take several weeks off so he's just putting that he went home for that time...I was just reading the aplication and you are correct HireRight. So what info does hireright have...sheesh it's like the old west here hahaha more brawls and lady steelers then Ilve ever seen hahaha

If he rally needs a job submit it but not to a company he thinks might be real good to work for later .
-
I am guessing that Hireright is the company that most employers use...??? Is it the ONLY place that DAC reports are collected, stored, taken, given or provided?
I guess what I am asking is, for example there are three credit reporting agencies. Equifax & them other two. Does DAC reporting work the same way or, is this basically the only place? Anyone know? -
Grummpy, when you submit for a copy of your DAC report, there is a membership that you can take advantage of through hire right that will allow you to access your CSA, DAC, background checks, and mvr's. Here is the link to hire right that explains how all of the information is obtained in one report.

Gdyupgal, I know that most companies require all company drivers to list all transportation jobs for a 10 year period, so that they can account for all dates. The reason for this is because of the homeland security check. The companies will only ask start date, end date, and reason for leaving. If he needs a job and cannot wait for the DAC report, then I would suggest to list it to make sure that all time is accounted for. Trucking companies look at the DAC report for any preventable accidents, incidents, CSA scores, moving violations, and MVR's to see if the driver meets their qualifications. If the company he worked for was a small company then I highly doubt that they reported anything to DAC.gdyupgal Thanks this. -
dac is something some stupid idiot started. and is mainly affiliated with major carriers.
if he never worked for a major carrier. he's probably safe.
only thing i have on my dac. is my training and that was 13 years ago. i stay away from people that use dac.
