Looks that way, unless my current company wants to up the ante. I given them my current offer and told them if they want to keep me they'll beat it. They haven't fired me yet so I'll assume they're considering it. Either way something good will happen for me.
I can not believe what flatbed loads are being offerd for!!!

Interesting...I am assuming you are not relocating, so you will have to tell me the details when things shake out.

That's why I started this thread I believe 35% of the drivers out here just don't know what loads should pay my dad always told me there is no stupid queston it's free to ask...like I said before my first few years as a O/O I was busy and couldn't keep up but I was telling people rates that I was use to getting being leased onto someone. I was getting 25-35% less than any of the other carriers. Yes I was making money but wasn't smart money I started shopping for cheaper insurance drove 65 put super singles and was doing everything I could do to lower my cost. When I raised my prices $.10 a mile I instantly noticed I was making more money
I do cost with driver pay and add 30% to my bottom line as a business you have to make a profit sometimes I make 60% profit sometimes more. If you can't make more money as a O/O than a company driver why would you take the extra risk but with risk comes reward!!! -
So here is another twist, one week until our oldest starts school, I just gave my notice and it looks like our daycare is giving us the boot. Sweet, might not be taking that job after all. I'm going to check to see what I can get worked out with the current guys to work with me through this crazy situation.

I told my fiancé that kids are as costly as a truck. She still doesn't believe me yet lol

It's cheaper to pay for a truck than a kid.
At least you can trade the truck off or sell it.SHC Thanks this. -
That's exactly what I told her.
Plus we already have a dog, at least with him I can take him to the boarding place and drop him off for a weekend when I need to lol -
she will, i have 3 and i can't be leave how much it cost for what they need some times and then every week they are selling something for school come on now
truck is much less cost and more predictable LOL -
Take a look at other stuff being close to your Ares is nice but there is a ton of money out there. My pops is pulling a flat for ls and mostly doing loads from Texas to north Dakota one to two round trips a week grossing 6-7k a week. Also a ton of freight from Chicago to the east coast and back paying big bucks. Mostly steel but low expenses and high gross plus you can get home more than every weekend.
