That's gonna turn some heads.
Or not. -
we'll all have temperature recorders once the fda does their thing. a few truckers break the rules and we all get digital nannies.
-
I am what is called paranoid about the temperature of my reefer, checking it often and I get nervous when the fuel level is half a tank. Maybe I should change my name here to Nervous Norman.
-
It should be noted that this was done by the state of Indiana, not the feds.
-
in the article the FDA claims to be working on the problem, but its government, so it wont happen until 2020.

need to nail those sorry suckers to the wall!!!!!!!!!!!! kids can die from some cheap @**%$#@$^&**,trying to save some pennies.
passion4polishing Thanks this. -
The stores should be turning stuff away if temps are too hot..... Charge it back to the trucking company... Eventually they will get the message when the few bucks they save in fulls cost them thousands in garbage food....
-
Some stores check the reefer, DCs and cross docks are more likely to check it, and most shippers end up taking returns or making allowances to allow receivers to get compensated for or return spoiled food.
My company was putting recorders in every load, and now, just the bulk combo loads, which are more likely to not be fresh when received. The device has to be returned and read to do any good, and most places were just tossing them from what I have seen. -
My favorite was a while back I received a small shipment from a fright company in a cargo van. Opened the door, pulled off my package...the front half of the van was loaded with boxes of Biscuits for Sonic labeled "KEEP FROZEN---PERISHABLE".
It was about 95 degrees, the fright terminal was at least 40 miles from my shop and the closest Sonic was at least 30 miles away.
It wasn't a refrigerated van.
