I really feel like i fit the bill of a truck driver, the lifestyle seems right for me and i feel that everything is pointing me towards perusing it as a career. The one issue i keep thinking of though is my severe lack of knowledge on the subject. I have never driven any truck, i have never driven any vehicle with a manual transmission, and i know very little about auto mechanics. I would love to become a truck driver, and am very willing to learn all i can to become one. Do you think my lack of experience/knowledge can be overcome? Or am i too much of a newbie?
Thanks in advance for the help.

Any person with average intelligence can do anything that requires average or less than average intelligence. I know guys in my trucking school who totally sucked at everything and they have jobs still.

Nobody is born knowing how to drive a truck, shift gears, or understand auto mechanics. They are all learned activities. There was a time every driver you see was in the same boat. Some learned earlie than others but all learned.

Rule #1.......Do not ride the center lane all the time in that 63 mph company truck!....
Really though, you can learn it if you put your mind to it.
It all takes time so don't get upset if you run into snags along the way during training. -
