That is great to have that kind of reputation from your fellow drivers!
Now, tell me he trains TCD drivers.

I have spoken to (on occasion) a TCD Trainer. He was really nice, and had the appearance of a good company trainer. I am sure that you will be fine with the trainer that you draw. If not, speak to the Training Department- they will handle it and get you squared-away. They will have invested too much into you to have you pissed off due to a trainer problem right outta the gate.
You will do great. You have chosen wisely.ultrikeflyer Thanks this. -
I feel that I will be in good shape with whichever trainer I get. Just wanted to get some insight before hopping in the trainers rig. Their likes/dislikes, so forth and so on.
I knew going to TCD would invoke a certain amount of ribbing from the flatbedders, but I don't mind. Especially when it is -20 or 110 outside and I'm NOT tarping a load!
I know flatbedders work hard. I see them alot, while they're sleeping in their cabs as the reefer drivers pass them!

By golly, I think I've finally figured out how to post from my Kindle.
Although new to TCD, I'll be happy to try to answer any questions I can about it and if I can't give an honest answer, I'll try to find one.
I'm out again this weekend by no fault of my FM. He tried to get me home but a load fell through earlier in the week and it messed everything up. Tonight I'm at the Pilot in Breezewod PA, on my way to Fredericksburg VA for Monday morning. Its an 860 mile start to my week. This past week was a good week even with one cancelled load.Evil_E, sewerman, JimTheHut and 1 other person Thank this. -
Mark Griffin is a good trainer, for what little I know about him. I know Geoff Claunch because of having worked with him in the Sand Division. He just became a TCD trainer.
TCD is pretty similar to pulling a regular dry van but with the added resposibilities of the Carrier unit and the temperature sensitive freight. The hours can be somewhat irregular from time to time and we deal a lot with lumpers because we DO NOT load or unload freight. If the inside of the trailer gets too dirty we have to get trailer wash outs.ultrikeflyer Thanks this. -
Got your PM and as soon as I get enough posts will PM you back.
Thanks to everyone else for the info provided. -
i'm working on it though -
I believe the trick is to close one door, then the other?
