Thanks for the words of encouragement. I'll just have to see how it works out. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.

This was my last 5 weeks with England. Told them 3 weeks in advance I needed to get home and when it came time for me to get headed to Ohio, and I was in Chicago, I got put on a trip to Cali. So I ran the load to Salt Lake, spent a day trying to get swapped back east, and finally got a run to Arkansas. I was already 2 days past when I needed to be home at this point and waiting for a load to Ohio, and they tried sending me NW again. So I deadheaded home 600 miles instead. I was leasing my truck, so I could while taking the hit on fuel. But I got home to see my son off on his first day of kindergarten.

28 days for training? what are you training for? Just about all training classes are 18-19 days at most. I was only gone a total of 18 days and that included 2 days traveling to and from Indy. I would call the main number and ask to speak to a different recruiter if yours wont return your calls within a day or two. Keep hounding thrm and just try to start the first of Oct. just because its been more tha 90 days since school, you shouldnt have to do a refresher.

I heard from the recruiter yesterday. Tentatvely scheduled for Oct. 2 in Dallas. She said orientation/ training in Dallas for 9 or 10 days, possibly 3 days in Houston, then out with trainer 2 weeks. So total about 28 days.

    Edit:this is for tanker training.

I was with SNI solo OTR for 2 years . Unless that is some kind of training you are talking about , they would bring you back to the terminal every 2 weeks for 2 days no problem. Last resort to reschedule a wedding. Otherwise maybe you could begin getting lonely, antisocial, depressed but proud to have joined the orange army

If you didn't work at a company in three whole months after training, most companies assume you've lost all skills to safely operate a CMV. Sorry, but you were aware. Looks like you're an exception. I can't survive without a job for three months. Congrats. Better look into spending more money on a refresher course if you're still interested.
