The reason I don't want to just look it up is that I want to encourage the exchange of information between drivers. Working someone for .25 per mile is a joke, an insult. I can understand 36 cents to start but nothing less then that.

Just to throw it out there... There are some new drivers at Swift that are able to get on regional runs that pay .34 per mile or dedicated runs that pay good $$$. It all depends on where the person lives, what opportunities exist at their terminal, and how they did as a trainee.

That is 5 years with Swift.

And experienced driver might start at a higher rate than a rookie, but I have no idea if they would start at Swift's 5 year pay schedule.

    Than, not then.

And I don't see it as either an insult nor a joke.

It is starting pay for someone that is just starting out in the field.
Someone with zero experience, and who will likely cost the company money because of service failures or accidents or injuries in the first year.

This whole attitude of 'I am worth more than this' is really funny - especially if you really aren't.
It's a bit sad, as well.
Welcome to the age of entitlement, and of expecting everything to be handed to you on a silver platter.

I would be weary of any company boasting high pay. Especially extremely high pay! This is usually a good indicator of how many miles they run and high pay goes hand in hand with no miles! A company can boast that they pay their drivers $.55 a mile but it they are sitting in the truck stop not running any miles they aren't makin squat!

When I worked for Swift, I was out of OK, City, Terminal, was OTR, and was still on a sliding scale pay . Low end was 32 cpm, up to 40cpm. I actually got a lot of miles with swift,,, but didn't like all the wore out equipment they had..
