been sittting in milwaukee since monday am turing down cheap freight. just accepted a decent paying load.
-
I have no problems finding good paying freight out of that area, just have to bounce 60 miles down to the Chicago area to get it is all. Milwaukee doesn't seem to ship as much as they once did. Glad you found a load
-
Milwaukee has good paying freight, it just isnt on load boards.
-
Wow I been doing military vehicles for 3 weeks now and have not looked on the boards at freight and wow rates have dropped even more fuel is over $4.10 a gal in the south and I have not found a load that pays over $1.89 a mile that goes over 300 miles it's crazy out here. I hope some of you are making money but I can't make much at what these rates are even had one offer a load to PA for $1.28 a mile I told him he was crazy he said that I'm the only one that's said that he had 7 of these loads and only has two left wow how do people do it???

To be a broker you have to be a conman, shyster and sleep at night knowing your bank account is flush due to fools believing you.HDFatboy Thanks this.

I let others haul all the cheap freight that they can get on their truck. If more owners turned down those cheap loads the rate would go up. Those who continue to haul the cheap freight won't survive. Those are the first to close the doors when the economy goes bad. Some people are just not good businessmen. There are those who will never be more than a driver. A businessman is concerned about the rate. A driver is only concerned about the miles and not sitting.
aiwiron, Working Class Patriot and MJ1657 Thank this. -
This forum is great. Tons of good info on here. Oh, and $1.65 per mile is chicken feed for skinny chickens!
MJ1657 Thanks this. -
I would not throw all brokers into the same hat. There are some who are honest and fair. I have a few that I have done business for many years and have a good relationship. I think that most of us who have been in this business for any length of time have also experience a few brokers who are dishonest and like to take advantage. You learn to stay away from those who are not upfront and honest.

that just means you havent caught them yet.
