So today I get a letter from the borough telling me I can't park my truck on my own property even though it is along the truck route and not parked on the street.
Interestingly enough here is what the ordinance states...
In any zoning district other than industrial, none of the following shall be parked or stored on a public right of way or any lot except in an enclosed garage or carport:
Trucks or vans exceeding 7,000 lbs gvw or designated class III or above by the pennsylvania motor vehicle code.
So correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't that make it illegal to park any 1 ton truck in the borough since they are a gvwr of 9k lbs or higher? Because I can make a list of at least 10 other trucks this size parked right on the street. Wondering what the borough will think about a dozen property owners complaining about not being able to park their pickup trucks at home.

Build a carport with metal poles or 2x4's and a tarp over the top lol

We ran into the same thing here. Local city said cannot park commercial vehicles in zones C1. We had a property owners permission to park there as he was also parking his trailers there. City said we can only park on zone M1. We had to relocate all our trucks including our ex landlords to our new facility. It got pretty hairy with city threatning fines of $1,000 daily and possible jail if we did not comply.

Thought of that but zoning does not allow us to build where I park my truck.

GVW is actual weight, GVWR is what its rated for, hence the "R"

I think they have problems with p/u in Coral Gables, FL area. I believe they have to be in a garage too and I don't think they worried about the property owners at all.
It sounds like it is going to be a problem for you if you don't comply. Do you have somewhere else you can park it.
Knock on wood, that is why I like living in the country unless it comes to pass where we live, it is really I guess what would classify as a subdivision even though we have 3 acres with restrictions only of no pigs being raised. -
So my sister, with her three kids, can't move there?
